ADULT PROGRAM

Our adults program is comprised of both,
TRADITIONAL SHOTOKAN KARATE and KRAV MAGA.
We have put a side by side explanation/comparison below, so you can understand how cross
training in both styles brings students a truly complete Martial Arts education and optimal results.

Traditional Shotokan Karate is the original style of Japanese Karate, and is considered to be the best styles of Karate for the development of technical skill, strength and power.

Sensei Casale's 12 Components of
Traditional Karate Training for Adults:

1) Undo (Body Conditioning)
2) Kihon (Karate Techniques)
3) Kata (Forms or Patterns of movements)
4) Kumite (Sparring/Fighting)
5) Bunkai (Combat Application)
6) Joint Manipulation/Locking Techniques
7) Sweeping/Throwing Techniques
8) Strangulation Techniques
9) Breath Control/Stress Reduction
10) Mental Focus/Heightened Concentration
11) Meditations on Philosophy
12) Kobudo (Classical Japanese Weapons)

Karate focuses on the scientific perfection of biomechanics. Techniques are developed to the point of mastery. The Karate attitude is very serious, calm and focused.

Traditional Karate Techniques are characterized by deep, long stances that provide stability, enable powerful movements, and greatly strengthen the body.

Traditional Karate training will give you an excellent work out, and is appropriate for EVERYONE regardless of age, experience, or past injuries to the body. Traditional Karate techniques can easily be modified to accomodate injuries or other health considerations. Karate is even therapeutic for many injuries and health conditions.

Krav Maga is the style of HAND TO HAND COMBAT taught by the Israeli Military.
It is considered to be the most effective form of Self Defense, and is taught to Military Personnel and Law Enforcement.

The 12 Components of Power
Krav Maga Training for Adults:

1) Combat Fitness/Body Conditioning
2) Boxing/Kickboxing
3) Neurological Training to control the
fear and confusion of actual combat
4) Combat Drills (Single/Multiple Opponents)
5) Joint Manipulation/Locking Techniques
6) Sweeping/Throwing Techniques
7) Strangulation Techniques
8) Street Wisdom
9) Situational Awareness
10) Environmental Weapons Training
11) Weapons Defense (Stick, Bat, Knife, Gun)
12) Shooting (Both Pistols & Rifles)

Krav Maga focuses on the study and development of raw aggressivness to overcome an attacker, or subdue a criminal for arrest.

Krav Maga Techniques are characterized
by high stances which encourage great mobility. This serves as an excellent cardio workout, and provides the practitioner with excellent speed in combat.

Krav Maga training is intense. If your
goal is to lose weight and tone up,
Krav Maga is for you. Techniques can
be modified to accomodate injuries and health considerations, but generally speaking, Krav Maga is a ROUGHER
workout than Traditional Karate Training.
